Preparing Servants
For
The Service Of The Kingdom
“The Lord has done great things with us; we are glad,” Psa126:3.
This is a course for preparing servants and leaders for Sunday School. It includes a comprehensive outline of the major Orthodox doctrines and key themes relevant to the Service in general and to Sunday School in particular. It is based on the teaching of the Holy Bible, the Tradition and the sayings of the Early Fathers who rightly taught the Word of Truth.
The lessons were originally given in Sydney, Australia (1990-2010) to pre-servants classes in
• St Anthony and St Paul’s Church, Guildford
• St Mary’s Church, Sydenham
• The Holy Apostles and St Abanoub’s Church, Blacktown
• Archangel Michael and St Pishoy’s Church, Mount Druitt.
The lessons are designed to increase our knowledge of the Biblical truth and learn how to apply them in the service of God. They also tackle some contemporary issues from a biblical perspective. The service of the Kingdom needs adequately prepared servants to help build the Body of Christ. We hope the availability of this course can be beneficial to many more.
The course is divided into three books:
• Book3: Login To Faith
This book provides a comprehensive outline of the biblical aspects of the Orthodox Faith and their practical application in the life of the individual believer. There are 38 lessons divided into three sections and they include lessons that deal with contemporary issues such as homosexuality, different types of addiction, different types of killing and IVF, cloning and cremation from biblical and orthodox perspectives.
