Leviticus is a sequel to Exodus, as the tabernacle was erected, this book came to reveal the nature of common worship (i.e., it is a liturgical book).
It is a book of holiness. God grants Himself as an inheritance to His people. Through unity with Him they are made holy.
The epistle to the Hebrews is considered to be a good spiritual commentary on this book. It reveals the path to the Holy One through Christ, who is simultaneously the Priest and the Sacrifice. Thus it connects the sacrifice to the life of sanctity.
It is the Gospel for the sinners, expressed in the language of forgiveness of their sins through the sacrificial blood (Lev. 17).
The sanctification of the people goes side by side with the satisfaction of their temporal needs and attention of their clothing, housing, food and drink. God sent to them the spirit of joy through the feasts and seasons.
